How much does birth control cost?
Family Planning offers several different programs that can help cover the costs of birth control. Some programs pay for all family planning services in full! To see if you qualify, just bring a photo ID and your last pay stub and we'll see what we can do to help!
Can you get pregnant if a penis touches your vagina after the male has cum but not during sex?
Yes! There are sperm present in the pre-ejaculate ("pre-cum") fluids. Remember it only takes one sperm to fertilize an egg! If this happened within the last 3-5 days, you can take a Plan B, which is 85% effective in preventing unplanned pregnancy. If it's been longer and your period is more than 7 days late, stop in and we can do a pregnancy test. We can also help get you on a reliable birth control method. You can come in at anytime for these services.
Is it mandatory to get a pap smear in order to get a prescription for birth control pills?
No you are not required to get a pap smear to get birth control pills. You will need to see one of our providers to make sure you're healthy and there aren't any reasons that you cannot take birth control pills. You can make an appointment or come in as a "walk-in". We're open Monday-Friday, 8:30-5:30.
Can I get free Plan B? I need it TODAY. I'm 17 and no job. Please help!
We can help! Please come, we can discuss with you how you can get your Plan B today at no-charge. Be sure to bring a photo ID with you. Plan B is 85% effective up to 5 days after unprotected sex. We can also help you look into birth control methods that may be suitable for your lifestyle, to help prevent unplanned pregnancy in the future. You do not need an appointment for this visit.
Can I get pregnant if my boyfriend already came in the condom and it broke when he was almost out?
Yes. If it's been 5 days or less since this happened, you can come in for a Plan B. Please come in and talk to us about other methods to help prevent unplanned pregnancy, in the event of a condom break. We're here to help!
I had sex months ago for two weeks straight all times unprotected. I'm 16 could I be pregnant? I have this clear stuff came out of my chest I'm kinda worried! Help me!
If you have not had a regular period since you've had unprotected sex, then "yes" you could definitely be pregnant. You can come in without an appointment for a pregnancy test to be sure. If your pregnancy test is negative (you're not pregnant), then we can talk to you about your options for birth control and how to prevent unintended pregnancy in the future. If your pregnancy test is positive ( you are pregnant), we will be able to discuss all the options that are available to you, so you can make the best, most informed decision. Nipple discharge could be caused by different things...pregnancy, infection, etc. Anytime you have any kind of discharge from your body, that is not normal for you, you should be seen my a medical provider. Please come in and we're here to help!
Is it possible to lose the Nuva Ring inside of you or did it fall out? Because I can't find it and have had unprotected sex with my boyfriend.
A Nuva Ring cannot be "lost" inside the body. If you cannot find the ring, please come in. One of our providers would be able to see if the ring has been displodged or if it's fallen out. If you've had unprotected sex in the last 5 days and do not wish to become pregnant, you can come in for a Plan B. In the meantime, be sure to use a condom to help prevent unintended pregnancy!
Is it possible to get pregnant while I am on my period?
Yes! Sperm can live inside of you for 7-10 days. To prevent unintended pregnancy, please be sure to use a birth control method any time you have sex. If you are interested in the different methods available, we'd be happy to discuss them with you at any time! You can walk-in or call for an appointment--662-2013.
I am 16 and I was wondering if I was pregnant could I get an abortion without my parents knowing?
Yes. Under RCW 9.02.100(1), in Washington State, "Minors may receive an abortion and abortion related services at any age without the consent of a parent, guardian or the father of the child."
I took Plan B after unprotected sex and I am 8 days late and I had clear liquid stuff come from my breast. Am I pregnant?
If you are 8 days late, we can have you come in for a pregnancy test to determine if you are pregnant. Plan B is 85% effective if taken within 5 days of unprotected sex. So there is a 15% possibility that you could be pregnant. You do not need an appointment for a pregnancy test. We are open Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:30.
Does your Family Planning offer H.O.P.E (Hormones with Optional Pelvic Exam)?
We do not offer the HOPE program, however, we do offer a similar program that allows clients to begin birth control and defer their exam for 1-3 months. Please call one of our counselors for more information on this program.
If I want to have a baby, can I choose to have a C Section?
Okay, well I had unprotected sexand 2 days later I got my period. Does that mean I'm not preagnant?
That's a pretty good sign that you probably are not pregnant IF it was a normal period for you. To be safe, you can always come in for a pregnancy test to be sure. You don't need an appointment for this visit. At that time, we can also let you know about the different birth control options that are available to you, to help prevent unintended pregnancy in the future. Stop by, we're here to help!
Can the use of condoms cause vaginal itching?
Yes, some people can be sensitive to the lubricant, brand or even the flavored condoms. You could also have a 'latex' sensitivity. We have many brands of condoms and you can pick up your free samples at 900 Ferry Street, between 8:00-5:30.
I've had a Paraguard IUD for about two years, and although I like it as a method, I don't like all the discharge my body is producing. I cannot go a single day without constantly changing pantyliners. MY GP told me that this is just "a fact of getting old," but I know that it's the IUD that's made this change. What can I do to stop the discharge?
In speaking with our providers, they indicate that any time you have discharge that seems abnormal to you, you should be checked...especially with an IUD. Although, this could be normal for you, it could also be a sign of complication or infection. A pelvic exam would give a provider the informaiton they need to make that determination. Once the reason for the discharge is determined, a provider will be able give you the answers you need, treatment options or suggestions on how to control the discharge and most of all...reassurance. So, call your doctor or if you'd like, we'd be happy to see you here as well. You can call at 7:45 for a same day appointment or we would be happy to work around your schedule and schedule something for you at a future date.
I want to get on the birth control pill, but I dont have the money to pay every month. Would I be able to get it for free some way?
There are programs available through Family Planning for people with limited income. These programs are based on family size and income. In some cases your services and supplies may be at no out of pocket cost to you. We can qualify you for these programs when you come in. All you need to do is bring any pay stubs you may have and a photo ID. It's that easy. Don't let money stand between you and your reproductive health. Stop by, we're here to help!
How likely is it for a girl to get pregnant when she is using a condom, but no other birth control?
Using a condom correctly and always, leaves a girl a 10% chance of getting pregnant. Condoms are 90-96% effective on average. However, the combination of hormonal birth control and condoms decrease her chances of unintended pregnancy significantly. We have programs that can help her with cost. Call our office for more information. We have a Teen Walk In Clinic every Wednesday from 2:30-5:30, if that helps!
If sperm has entered your body and you don't take the birth control pills in an hour or 2 what will happen?
Depending on the type of birth control pills, how long you've been taking them and if you take them regularly the rest of the time you are probably not at risk of pregnancy. However, if that's not the case, you could be at risk for an unintended pregancy. If it's been 5 days or less, Plan B is available for these situations without a prescription to any woman 17 and older. If you're younger, then you will be required to see one of our providers, but will still be able to receive the Plan B. If you're concerned, please come in and speak with one of our counselors. They are available to you 8:30-5:30/Monday-Friday.
I have the Mirena IUD. I have had it for almost two years and over the last week I have been feeling symptoms similar to the ones I had when I was pregnant with my daughter. I have breast tenderness slight nausea, frequent urination, but I took a test and got a negative result. What do you think I should do? thank you for your time
Mirena is 99% effective. There is always a risk (1 in 200) of pregnancy. We recommend that you visit your provider for a clinical pregnancy test and consultation. You do not need an appointment for pregnancy testing at Family Planning. We're open from 8:30-5:30/Monday-Friday.
Do you offer any other kind of services? like help with paying diapers and milk for teen moms?
Family Planning refers pregnant women to organization such as WIC (Women, Infants & Children), which was designed to help with the nutritional needs of the mother and baby and First Steps, a program that helps low-income pregnant women get the health and social services they need to insure a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. We also refer clients who may need further assistance to contact the Department of Social & Health Services (located at 805 S Mission, Wenatchee) for more information on programs that can help.
How many teens say that you can not contact their home numbers or parents?
Family Planning does not track the number of clients who do not want to be contacted by phone. These clients are not only teens, but adults who are in unhealthy relationships. Seventy four percent of the clients we serve are between the ages of 18-34. Thirteen percent are older and 13% are younger. Family Planning encourages teens talk to their parents about coming to Family Planning, however, if a client asks that we do not contact them at home, Family Planning does require clients to give us contact information that can be used in case of positive test results.
How many teens get birth control without the parent knowing that they are taking it?
Family Planning encourages adolescents to talk with their parents about birth control and/or the reason they came to Family Planning. We believe that an adolescent's primary teacher is their parent(s). Realizing the importance of good, open communication, Family Planning offers the T.A.L.K.S. program, which has been funded by United Way for many years. This program, primarily for mother and daughters of puberty age, is designed to facilitate commuication about body changes, challenges of teen years, good decision making and what constitutes a healthy relationship. This program has also been offered to foster parents, grandparents raising grandchildren and exchange students and their American host families. Many who have participated in this program express, even years later, how this class helped keep the lines of communication open as their child moved through their teen years. If you are interested in this program, please see the "Education" page of our website for more information. Under Washington State statute, RCW 9.02.100(1), anyone of reproductive age can receive confidential family plannning services without parental consent. Under statute RCW 70.24.110, teens 14 years and older can be tested and treated for STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections).
How is family planning paid for? taxes? donations?
Sixty-five percent of our funding is from state and federal dollars received through grants to provide services. In addition, 19 percent comes from Medicaid or the Medicaid waiver program for Family Planning services (Take Charge). While 9 percent is derived from client fees, donations, and smaller local grants like United Way and the North Central Washington Community Foundation. Finally, 7 percent is received through insurance billing.
How many teens have abortions without parents consent?
Family Planning strongly encourages teens who are considering abortion to talk with their parents or a trusted adult. Support from folks who love and care for you helps in so many ways, regardless if you are a teen or older. Since Family Planning has never performed abortions, the answer to this question is not known. If a woman is thinking about an abortion, information abut parenting, adoption and foster care is also given so the woman can make an informed choice. Information given about abortion is comprehensive and medically accurate. It includes information about the procedure itself, the location of the abortion provider and cost.
How much money does it cost to run Family Planning? (approximate per month)
More than you might think. Family Planning is fortunate to employ two Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, who specialize in Reproductive Health. One of which is a certified midwife. We also employ have three counselors and one Registered nurse, one experienced biller and coder, as well as a receptionist and a contracted Educator with a Masters Degree in Social Work. Family Planning strongly believes in continuing education, which we provide twice a month to providers/counseling staff. This training often utilizes low cost audio conference and webinars that are done in the clinic. Both ARNP’s are sent to the annual regional three-day Reproductive Health Conference held in Seattle or Portland to update their skills and obtain credits necessary to retain their licensure. Our male Bilingual Health Educator attends the week long Northwest Institute for Community Health Educators, which is held every other year. Supply costs include birth control methods, medical supplies, such as gloves, paper drapes, etc., office supplies, medical equipment and more, all of which increase in cost every year. We also incur costs for our Educators, who travel to local schools for education and community events. Sixty-five percent of our clients do not have insurance or Medicaid and amazingly many health insurance plans still do not cover birth control. All of our clients are assessed annually to determine their degree of financial need. Based on their income and family size, their charges are based on their ability to pay. Only 10% of our clients are billed at full fee and 71% of our clients fall below 100% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPL), which puts that at a “zero” charge” for all services and supplies that are provided to them at Family Planning. We hope that this has given you an idea of what it costs to provide services to our clients.
I had unprotected sex once with someone I knew had herpes. He is on suppressive therapy, but I'm still really worried. Can I get the blood test done at your clinic? What is the cost?
Unfortunately, we do not offer blood testing at Family Planning. You can try going to the walk in clinic at Wenatchee Valley Medical Center or Columbia Valley Community Health. You may also want to call Chelan-Douglas Health Department...they might be able to help you as well.
How much do services cost?
All services provided at Family Planning are billed based on your family size and income. You can come in and we can do a Financial Assessment, which will tell you if you qualify for any programs and what your fee category would be. We have Billing Staff that can do this for you at any time.
I have irregular periods. Right now I'm on day 5 (out of 7 that I last in my period) and the condom broke during ejaculation. Is there a risk of getting pregnant? I also went to the pharmacy and bought Plan B, 30 mins after the incident. Can you inform me?
Taking Plan B within 72 hours of unprotected sex, is ideal and it sounds like that's what you've done. Plan B is 89% effective, so there is still a chance of pregnancy. If you don't start your period, you can come in at any time for a pregnancy test, you don't need an appointment.
Is it cheaper to get birth control pills at Family Planning than at my regular doctor?
Family Planning, because of grants and other funding, is able in many cases to offer birth control to you at a lower cost. We also base your cost of ALL of our services and supplies, on your ability to pay (sliding scale). There are also other programs that could help with the cost of your birth control and exams. If you're interested, you can speak with our Billing Office by phone or come in and speak with one of our Counselors, they can tell you if you qualify and what your actual cost would be. You don't need an appointment for this service.
Can I get preggers if the condom was half way on when he pulled out? Afterwards I had a discharge or (what looked like) cum coming out of me? Could I be?
Yes you can be pregnant! Any time a condom is not used correctly you risk the chance of an unintended pregnancy. If it's been less than 5 days, you can take a Plan B, if it's been longer than that you can come in at any time, without an appointment, for a pregnancy test.
I've been having this issue all my life. It is embarrassing. I tried some ways to hide the smell but can't. The problem is my vagina. I think I have BV infection but I'm just not sure. I discharge everyday and I look at my discharge to see what color it is and things like that, but it doesn't seem normal to me. What can I do? Is there a treatment for it? I'm only 19 and I am not employed and not sure if my parents would pay for my health care. Please I need an answer.
It's difficult to say if this is normal for you or if you have an infection. The only way to know for sure is to come in and see one of our providers for an evaluation. We have programs that will help with the cost of the examination, testing and treatment (if treatment is necessary). When you come in, be sure to bring your photo ID and a current pay stub if you have one. Depending on your income, there may be no charge to you for our services under our programs. Don't let the lack of insurance or money stand between you and your health. We're here to help!
I'm 16 years old and I have been tested for an STD. I do have gonorrhea, they gave me the cure and they told me to wait two weeks to have sex. But instead I had sex four days later with a condom and my stomach started to hurt what's going to happen?
Intercourse, before the medicine has a chance to work, puts others at risk of getting Gonorrhea. Using a condom was a good choice, however they sometimes condoms can fail. As for your stomach pain, anytime you develop new symptoms that seem to last, you should see your doctor/provider. Gonorrhea can spread into the abdomen and cause Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), which can be very serious and will require additional...more extensive treatment. Because Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease, we would recommend that your partner(s) be tested and treated...as a precaution. If you are still having stomach pain, please make an appointment to see the provider that prescribed your treatment. You will also need to be re-tested in 3 months to make sure that the infection is gone. If you are not able to see the provider that prescribed your treatment, we would be happy to see you! Call or stop by...we're here to help!
When do I start my period if I stop taking the pill after a month?
You should start your period within (1) one month, if you stopped your pill after your last period. If you don't start your period and you're more than 6 days late (from the day you should have started) you may want to come in for a pregnancy test. Unless you're ready to start a family, be sure that you are using another form of birth control (condoms, abstinence, etc). If you have any questions, please call or stop by.
What happens if you took the medicine to cure gonorrhea and then had sex with a condom four days later whats going to happen?
Intercourse, before the medicine has a chance to work , puts others at risk of getting Gonorrhea. Using a condom was a good choice, however they sometimes condoms can fail. Because Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease, we would recommend that your partner be tested and treated if necessary. You also need to remember that you need to come in 3 months after you had your positive test, to make sure the medication worked. If you have any questions, you can call or stop by and talk to one of our counselors.
Should I have been given another morning after pill (Plan B) if I had taken one 4 days before but hadn't bled from that one yet? How long do I have to wait now for a bleed I'm so worried.
There is no need to take another Plan B to trigger bleeding. Plan B is not taken to cause you to start your period (bleeding). If you haven't started your period yet, you can come in at anytime and we can do a pregnancy test. We know that this is stressful, stop by...we can help.
I'm on birth control but I don't normally take it the same time every day. If my boyfriend entered me without a condom but did not ejaculate inside of me, is there any chance I could be pregnant? It happened last Thursday and I am supposed to have my period this week. Today I had cramps in the morning and a pretty light period.
To insure that your birth control is the most effective, you should take it at approximately the same time every day. Even though your partner did not ejaculate, there is a possibility that sperm was released during the pre-ejaculation phase ("pre-cum"), which means there could still be a risk of unintended pregnancy. To do a pregnancy test, you need to be 6-10 days late or after an abnormal period. If you don't have a normal period, you can come in for a pregnancy test. If you come in too early, the test results are not reliable. Using a condom, even though you're on birth control, is a great way to prevent unintended pregnancy and infection. If you still have questions or concerns, be sure to call for an appointment or come in on Wednesday afternoons during our Teen Walk-In Clinic.
Do I need to schedule an appointment for a STD/HIV test and a pap?
For this type of visit, we do prefer that you call for an appointment. You can call in, any morning at 7:45 for a same day appointment. If you are working around a school or work schedule, we are happy to pre-schedule an appointment for you. We also have a "Teen Walk In" clinic every Wednesday from 2:00-5:30, where you can come in without an appointment. Our phones open 7:45 for your convenience...662-2013
Lately I notice every time me and my boyfriend have sex, I start bleeding afterwards. At first I didn't worry too much, until recently. Last night we had sex and I starting bleeding again, but this time was pretty bad and it really scared me. I'm worried and dont know what to do. I can't go to the doctor cause I have no insurance. What could be causing this and what should I do?
Don't let the lack of insurance stop you from coming in. We have programs that could reduce your cost of care based on your income. This is a situation in which we feel strongly that you should make an appointment as soon as possible. There are several things that could cause this, including STDs, but without seeing you we have no way to help. Please call as soon as possible for an appointment...we're here to help.
Birth control
Well...that's a tough one!! LOL If you're asking if we have them...you bet! If you want to know if we can help you get started on one...of course! Give us a call and let us know what your needs are and we will do what we can to help.
What is the cut off point for income you can make for Take Charge.
That depends on the size of your family. If you are a student or a single person the highest amount you can make is $1,400/before taxes...a family of 3 (including yourself) can make up to $2,400/before taxes. You can call our Billing Department and they will be happy to tell you, based on the information you provide, if you qualify. Give us a call, we're here to help!
I took Plan B One Step last Sunday and haven't started birth control yet. Is that ok that I havent started birth control?
The best way to prevent unintended pregnancy is to start a hormonal form of birth control. The longer you wait, the higher the risk...if you're ready to start a reliable method, please stop by or call for an appointment. We have programs that can help...be sure to bring a photo ID and if you're working, your last pay stub.
"VCF"?
"VCF" or Vaginal Contraceptive Film is a hormone-free contraceptive that has none of the side-effects associated with hormone based birth control products. It's easy, fast, discreet, not messy, can't be felt by either partner and lasts for 3 hours. For more information on "VCF" visit their website at www.vcf-contraceptive.com/
I had unprotected sex a bit ago then 24 hours after I got the Plan B. Being stupid, I had unprotected sex again a day or two after taking the pill. I dont know if I should take another Plan B or if I will be okay from the last one a took from the first time? I'm nervous because my period is always very irregular, so I dont know if I'm late or not. Should I take another one or will I be okay from the first pill I took is my question.
You should DEFINITELY come in for another Plan B. Plan B is effective for the "past" 5 days and will not protect you if you have unprotected sex after taking Plan B. If you think you might be late, we can do a pregnancy test when you come in for your Plan B. If you take the Plan B, but still don't have a period, then come in and we can test you again. Be sure to talk to a counselor when you come in for your Plan B, they'll be able to tell you when to come in for another pregnancy test and to give you more information and relieve your concerns. We'd like to suggest a more reliable form of birth control, Plan B is only 85% effective. If you're interested, ask to speak with a counselor when you come in to get your Plan B. We can get you started on a method of birth control and eleviate your concerns in the future. We have programs that will help with the cost, so be sure to bring a photo ID and if you work bring in your last pay stubs. We're here to help.
I had unprotected sex and then got the Plan B, 24 hours later. Then the day after that I was stupid enough to have unprotected sex again. Should I get another Plan B or am I still okay from the last pill I took a day ago? I'm really nervous!

Why shouldn't I take Plan B if I am pregnant?
Plan B, is not an 'abortion pill' and would not have any affect on an already established pregnancy (the egg has been fertilized). If you're not sure if you're pregnant, you can stop in for a pregnancy test. At that time, one of our counselors will be happy to talk to you.
I'm 16 years old, I have no job or insurance and I'm pregnant. Is it going to cost me an arm and a leg to get an abortion?
There is a program that will cover the cost of abortion services. Although we do not offer abortion services here at Family Planning, we do offer pregnancy options counseling, at which time we can help you get signed up. You can come in at anytime for this counseling.
I have started my new dose of oral contraceptive pills but realize, after the first line was done, that I have been taking them the from opposite direction. Am I at risk of getting pregnant? What should I do?
Taking or using birth control incorrectly does put you at risk for unintended pregnancy. If you have had sex within the last 5 days, we would suggest taking Plan B...if it's been more than 5 days you may want to consider a pregnancy test. To determine which is best for you, please stop by and one of our counselors would be happy to review your options, discuss the proper use of your method and relieve any concerns you may have. You don't need an appointment for a pregnancy test here at Family Planning. We're here to help.
Do you treat preexisting stds?
Yes we do! We also offer programs that may help with the cost of your treatment. Please call for an appointment...662-2013
Ok, I might be pregnant. Me and my fiance had sex today. I went to the bathroom, thought I had to pee and found out U was bleeding, but when he was inserting it felt wrong...like he inserted it wrong. Why am i bleeding?
We advise you to go directly to your OB/Gyn doctor or to the Emergency Room. Family Planning does not offer prenatal services. Bleeding during pregnancy could mean that there is a threat to the pregnancy...it could also be part of the normal implantation process. Don't take any chances...see your doctor as soon as possible.
Can teens age 13 go in without a parent and get tested for STD's?
In Washington State, the legal age of consent for STD testing is 14 years of age (RCW 70.24.110). However, a 13 year old, can seek and consent to care for birth control (RCW 9.02.100(2))
I no longer have insurance policy and I'm pregnant. I want to get my prenantal visit what do I do?
Family Planning no longer offers prenatal services. We do have a list of local providers available. If you are interested, please stop by and we'll be happy to give that list to you.
I'm on birth control and take it on time but I'm constantly bleeding, is something wrong?
Any time you have abnormal bleeding or discharge, you should be checked by a provider. Sometimes abnormal bleeding can be stopped by a change in the type of birth control pill you are taking. However, you will need to see a provider to have your method changed. Please call for an appointment and we'll be happy to help!
Do you offer abortions? If so how much do you charge?
Family Planning does not provide abortion services. You can stop by the office and speak with one of our counselors, who will be able to give you the information you need.
Does it cost anything to get checked for STD's?
HIV testing is free at Family Planning. However, to check for other STD infections, there is a charge. Family Planning does offer a program that, depending on your income, could provide these services at no charge. To see if you qualify please call and speak with our Billing Department. We are happy to do whatever we can to help you...don't let cost stand in the way of your health.
Is there any prescription that I shouldn't take if I take Plan B?
Because Plan B is intended to be a "one time" dose, you should be fine taking other medications. However, please remember that Plan B is to be used in emergencies and not intended to be used as a birth control method. If you are sexually active, we can help get you on a birth control method that is more reliable. Call or stop by for more information. For more information on Plan B, you can visit their website at www.planbonestep.com
Does Plan B really stop ovulation? If so, what happens after?
Plan B intended to "delay" ovulation upto 5 days after unprotected sex, which would prevent pregnancy. Plan B is about 89% effective in preventing unintended pregnancy. After taking the Plan B, you should notice some spotting or get your period within 7-10 days. If you don't...you need to come in for a pregnancy test to make sure the Plan B worked for you. We have many forms of birth control that are more reliable than Plan B. Plan B is meant to be used in emergencies and over use of Plan B could actually cause you to get pregnant! We can help you decide on a method that's right for you. Please call or stop by for more information.
What if I'm still ovulating after taking Plan B One Step?
If by "...still ovulating..." you mean that you haven't started your period yet, you should come in for a pregnancy test. Plan B is 89% effective in preventing unintended pregnancy, by delaying ovulation. Plan B is not intended to be a form of birth control and should be used in emergencies only. After taking Plan B, you would expect to have spotting/period within 7-10 days after taking the pill. If you were pregnant at the time you took Plan B, there is no risk to the fetus. You can have a pregnancy test done on a walk-in basis. If you're interested in a more reliable form of birth control, we can help with that too! Please call or stop by...we're here to help!
I want to be pregnant & my fiance does not want more children. He has two & I have one. What are the facts of the withdrawl method? I am trying to come to some type of middle ground with him.
The 'withdrawal' method is only about 70% effective. There is definitely a risk of pregnancy with the withdrawal method. Condoms are a good method with a higher rate success in reducing unintended pregnancy. We're happy to visit with you about this and answer any other questions you have.
Name of physician?

If your partner has cum on his fingers and he fingers you can you get pregnant?
YES! Anytime semen ("cum") enters the vagina a woman can get pregnant. If this has happened to you, you can take a Plan B upto 5 days after to help reduce the risk of unintended pregnancy. It's also possible that you may be at risk for an STD infection. We offer testing for HIV, STD and pregnancy. We can also help you with a reliable form of birth control. If you're concerned, please call or stop by. We're here to help you!
My boyfriend didn't insert his penis in my vagina but he didn't use protection and i got my period after. Am I pregnant?
If we understand your question correctly..."no", if there was no way for semen to get into the vagina (either with penetration of his penis, fingers, etc), then there probably isn't a risk of pregnancy...especially if you got your period. If you are sexually active, we can help you with a reliable form of birth control. ALL our services are CONFIDENTIAL. Please stop by or call for an appointment. We have programs to help with the cost too.
How many times can you take Plan B in a week?
Plan B is NOT intended to be a form of birth control. Plan B is 85% effective, when taken within 3-5 days of unprotected sex. Plan B 'delays' ovulation and by taking Plan B too often, you WILL INCREASE your chances of getting pregnant. It's difficult to say "when" that can happen, but it can happen. Our providers opinion is that taking Plan B more than 2-3 times a month could put you at a higher risk of unintended pregnancy. There are many methods available that are more reliable than Plan B. If you're concerned about cost, we have programs that will help with that too. Please stop by and visit with our counselors about what you can do to reduce your risk of unplanned pregnancy. We're here to help!
I took the Plan B on Thursday. but then on Saturday I had sex again and the condom broke....Should I take another one or am I still safe?
YES...you definitely want to take another Plan B! The Plan B you took on Thursday only covered the "past" 5 days.
Plan B is 85% effective, a more reliable way to prevent unintended pregnancy would be to start a birth control method and we can help! There are programs available that will help with the cost of birth control as well. We're open Monday - Friday from 8:00-5:30 and have a Teen Walk In Clinic every Wednesday from 2:00-5:00.
How long does the Plan B stay effective?
Plan B does not 'stay' effective. Plan B is intended to reduce the risk of unintended pregnancy, after unprotected sex, for the PAST five (5) days. If you had unprotected sex after taking Plan B, you should take another dose. We can help you with a more reliable form of birth control. If you're interested, stop by or call for information on how you can qualify to have these costs covered and how to get started. we're here to help!
How much does Plan B cost???

The effectiveness is 85% if taken between days 4-5. There is always a chance you can be pregnant...even if you take Plan B. You can come in at anytime for a pregnancy test to be sure. If you take a Plan B pill and than still have unprotected sex and he cums inside you can you still get pregnant? What if your period has been on and off for a week now?
