  • I have the Mirena IUD. I have had it for almost two years and over the last week I have been feeling symptoms similar to the ones I had when I was pregnant with my daughter. I have breast tenderness slight nausea, frequent urination, but I took a test and got a negative result. What do you think I should do? thank you for your time
  • Ok, I might be pregnant. Me and my fiance had sex today. I went to the bathroom, thought I had to pee and found out U was bleeding, but when he was inserting it felt wrong...like he inserted it wrong. Why am i bleeding?

    About Us

    Name: Anita
    Title: Executive Director
    Started at FPCD: 1983
    Education/Work Experience: Anita obtained her degree in Social Sciences from Washington State University, magna cum laude, in 2007, a little over 40 years after she began her college career. “Slow but sure” is her motto.
    What brought her to FPCD? Wanting to be more of an activist in her convictions of women’s rights, Anita volunteered at Family Planning, and in 1983, was hired as the clinic manager. Although during her 25 years with Family Planning, Anita left for a year to devote more time to a retail business in which she and her husband had a partnership, she soon realized her heart was with Family Planning and returned.
    Interests/Hobbies: Anita and her husband have been in the antique business for a number of years and he appraises clocks, watches and jewelry. They also enjoy their old wooden boat moored in the San Juan Islands.

    Name: Candy
    Title: Operations Manager
    Started at FPCD: 2008
    Education/Work Experience: Candy started in the medical field while still in high school. She was a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant for many years, before becoming a Certified Professional Coder in 2000. She has worked in both client care and client billing.
    What brought her to FPCD? Candy tells us that she came to Family Planning to make a difference in the lives of young women, by providing quality, low cost and confidential services. She also states that she was once a victim of domestic violence and found great support from agencies in the Valley and wanted to do what she could to give back to the community.
    Interests/Hobbies: Candy is busy raising her grandson, enjoys gardening and interior design projects. She and her family enjoy riding their 4-wheelers around their wheat ranch in Farmer.

    Name: Eileen
    Title: Nurse Practitioner
    Started at FPCD: 1979
    Education/Work Experience: Eileen completed her BSN in Women’s Health in 1977 at CUNY-Herbert Lehman College in New York. She spent 2 years as at staff nurse at Montifiore Hospital and Medical center in the Bronx before returning to Wenatchee. Certified as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), she started her 30 year career in 1979, at Family Planning. In 2005, Eileen received the Vivian Lee Nurse Practitioner of the Year award. This annual award honors the best Nurse Practitioners in Reproductive Health in Washington State.
    What brought her to FPCD? Eileen moved to the Wenatchee area to be close to family, who were among the first families to settle in the Wenatchee Valley.
    Interests/Hobbies: Eileen is very involved with her children and grandchildren. She enjoys working on her “big old house” which houses three generations. In her spare time she enjoys fishing, camping, politics, is a self proclaimed “news junkie” and is proud of her new found skills using the computer!!

    Name: Sheila
    Title: Nurse Practitioner/Certified Nurse Midwife
    Started at FPCD: 2000
    Education/Work Experience: Sheila began her secondary education at Colorado State University and completed her BSN at Mesa State College. She received her certification as a Nurse Midwife from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing, focusing then on her Masters degree in nursing from Case Western Reserve University. Sheila has extensive experience in women’s reproductive health, male reproductive health, migrant health, perinatal nursing and midwifery.
    What brought her to FPCD? Shelia believes the most important gift we can offer one another is that of compassionate service. She feels that by offering high quality, affordable healthcare and education, FPCD enables her to empower clients in simple yet powerful choice-making and management of their own health and reproductive lives.
    Interests/Hobbies: Sheila enjoys the study and appreciation of the natural world, hiking, backpacking, kayaking, music/art, photography, poetry, literature, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.

    Name: Sergio
    Title: Clinic Counselor/Outreach Educator
    Started at FPCD: 2003
    Education/Work Experience: Sergio completed his Associates degree, was a Head Start Parent Involvement Coordinator, a classroom aid and advocate.
    What brought her to FPCD? What brought him to FPCD? Sergio laughs, as he explains that he brought a friend into FPCD for services…saw a posting for a ‘male’ educator and here he is!! And we’re glad he is!
    Interests/Hobbies: Sergio loves spending time with his wife and two children, LOVES football and soccer!

    Name: Rocio
    Title: Clinic Counselor
    Started at FPCD: 2007
    Education/Work Experience: Rocio has worked as a Medical Assistant for 3 years, a CNA for 4 years and has 4 years experience in customer service.
    What brought her to FPCD? Rocio wanted the experience of working with young women’s reproductive health issues.
    Interests/Hobbies: Rocio enjoys playing soccer and spending time with her family.

    Name: Amy
    Title: Clinic Counselor
    Started at FPCD: 2009
    Education/Work Experience: Amy has worked in the healthcare field for 8 years. She attended Wenatchee Valley College for a year and a half, planning to return winter quarter 2009.
    What brought her to FPCD? Amy has always respected what services and education FPCD offered the community. She enjoys the opportunity to talk with clients about contraception, safety, as well as other reproductive health concerns that clients may have.
    Interests/Hobbies: Amy loves spending time with photography.

    Name: Maria
    Title: Medical Billing Specialist/Accounts Receivable
    Started at FPCD: 2006
    Education/Work Experience: Maria has 10 years experience in medical billing and medical accounting. She has also worked with general accounting for 18 years.
    What brought her to FPCD? Maria had spent a couple of years working in payroll in the fruit industry. She states when she saw there was an opening at FPCD, she saw it as her opportunity to get back into the healthcare field.
    Interests/Hobbies: Maria is active in her church and loves spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoys gardening and finding new creative things to do in her house.

    Name: Krissy
    Title: Exit Clerk/Coder
    Started at FPCD: 2008
    Education/Work Experience: Krissy has a great deal of experience in the healthcare field and customer service. She has also worked as a cosmetologist.
    What brought her to FPCD? Krissy was working in the healthcare field and the opportunity at FPCD would help her add to her billing/coding skills…plus she says, “…it was closer to home!”
    Interests/Hobbies: Krissy enjoys music, traveling, spending time with family and friends. She also loves spending time with her dogs! She’s also a great event planner!!

    Name: Tiffany
    Title: Receptionist
    Started at FPCD: 2009
    Education/Work Experience: Tiffany has worked as a medical receptionist for 3 years. She tells us that she’s spent over 16 years providing excellent customer service in various jobs. She laughs, “…I think I’ve about seen it all!!”
    What brought her to FPCD? Tiffany moved to Wenatchee from Brewster, wanting a change! And she says, “…so far, I’m loving it all!!”
    Interests/Hobbies: Tiffany loves to go dancing, exercise, volleyball, swimming and spending time with her friends and family.
